Featuring trails catering to cyclists from beginners through experts, you’ll find an adventure for any taste you bring to the red dirt table. Visit our friends at the Cuyuna Lakes Mountain Bike Crew and at Cuyuna.com for all the details. Find a trail map here.

Mountain Bike Guide Service

Derrick and Mari of Sure Shift MTB know mountain biking and know our local trails inside out! If you want expert guiding or instruction, we thoroughly recommend calling these guys.

Paved Trail Cycling

The trail that started it all, the Cuyuna Lakes State Trail. Following the 2019 extension to Deerwood, this beautiful paved trail is around nine miles in length, connecting the cities of Riverton, Ironton, and Crosby through the scenic and historic Cuyuna Country State Recreation Area, and onwards to Deerwood.

Gravel Grinding

Variety is the spice of life. Don’t visit Cuyuna without bringing your gravel bike for a day of off-the-red-dirt-trail fun. You’ll experience the gravel alps of Aitkin County and beautiful scenery. Visit our friends at Cuyuna.com and search under their Adventure/Cycling Routes page to see their gravel-grinder cycling routes.

Fat Tire Biking and Snowshoeing

Winter is truly awesome on Cuyuna's single-track mountain bike trails. The Crew groom over 35 miles creating a pristine environment for enjoying the season. Don't let a little chilly weather stop you from getting outside!

Paddleboarding & Kayaking

Six natural lakes and fifteen deep mine lakes (with 50-foot water clarity), the Cuyuna Country State Recreation offers 25 miles of natural shoreline to explore on your kayak, canoe, paddleboard, or snorkel. And if you are a thrill seeker, paddle across the Portsmouth Mine Lake. At 395 feet deep, it’s Minnesota’s deepest inland lake.

Gear Rental, Sales & Service

With great world-class outdoor recreation comes an even greater need for gear rental, sales, maintenance and guides. Visit with our friends below:

Fishing

In addition to all the nearby natural lake fishing opportunities, try hooking rainbow trout from our beautiful mine lakes or spend a day on the Mississippi. Visit Crosby's Oars-N-Mine for guide service, tackle, bait and insider knowledge!

Cross Country Skiing

We are fortunate to have over 30 miles of nordic skiing trails at four great cross country ski areas nearby! Check out the groomed trails at Larson Lake, Wolf LakeFrench Rapids and Nordic Ridge Rec Area.

Wellness Studio - massage, yoga and sauna

Just five doors to our east along Main Street is the Uplifted Wellness Studio offering a variety of great services to help you prepare for a day on the trails or relax afterwards. Nothing better! Best to book ahead but they can often fit you in at short notice too. Go ahead and treat yourself.

Bowling

Just a few hundred yards west of the Lofts, along Main Street, you'll find Cuyuna Lanes, featuring eight lanes of old-school fun!

Fitness and Activities Center

We are lucky to have a great facility at The Hallett Community Center!  Featuring a fitness center, swimming pool, aerobic room, ice rink and sauna this place has something for everyone and it's open to the public.

Local Heritage

A trip to the Cuyuna Iron Range isn’t fulfilled without a voyage back in time to understand how today’s Cuyuna actually came to be. Experience the Soo Line Depot, and the Milford Mine Memorial Park. Trust us, these stops along your way will be well worth your storytelling time.

Antique Stores

In 1998 Governor Arne Carlson described Crosby as the "antique capital of Minnesota!"  While our number of stores is down from the peak there are still several great places up and down Main Street to explore.
